John Wittemann Obituary

John B. Wittemann

Virginia Beach - John Bryant Wittemann, 75, passed away February 28, 2016. John was born to the late Samuel and Nora Bryant Wittemann. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country in the United States Navy retiring after 23 years of service; following his military career John taught Special Education at Salem Middle School. He was a graduate of St. Leo College and also attended Norfolk State University.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years, Jacqueline Wittemann; daughters, Joanne D. Pilcher (Daniel) and Jeannette I. Reynolds (Robert); and three grandchildren, Philip J. Pilcher, April M. Pilcher, and Isabella W. Reynolds.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11am at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake followed by full military honors. The family asks those attending to wear Virginia Tech Hokies colors if possible. The family will also receive friends at a reception at the funeral home immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society/Lung Cancer.
