PORT CLINTON: Milferd F. "Mush" Easton, 84, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Regency Hospital of Toledo in Sylvania, Ohio.
He was born on March 14, 1928 in Port Clinton, the son of the late Floyd and Malinda (Gleckler) Easton.
He married Phyllis McBride on April 3, 1948 and she preceded him in death on August 9, 1992. He then married Norma Jean Zelms on October 16, 1993 and she preceded him in death on December 12, 2012.
Mush worked at the Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton until 1966 and then worked as a custodian at Port Clinton City Schools until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Port Clinton Fire Department for over 50 years and was a member of the Port Clinton EMS for over 25 years where he served as Assistant Chief. He also helped out with the Port Clinton Football Chain Gang for over 50 years. He was a longtime member of the Men's Prayer Breakfast Club at Trinity United Methodist Church in Port Clinton. He enjoyed driving around Catawba Island and the Marblehead Peninsula in his spare time. He also enjoyed doing puzzles.
Survivors include his daughters: Sharon Kay Easton, Salem, Ohio, Donna Jean Easton, Toledo, Ohio and Kimberly Sue (Jeff) Jones, Port Clinton; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters: Lila Ford, Lancaster, Ohio and Joann Moon, Port Clinton.
Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8pm with Firefighter Services to be conducted by members of the Port Clinton Fire Department at 7pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Deron Fourman officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
