Daniel B. Braun, 85, of Adams, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the Adams Health Care Center. 

Daniel Barney Braun was born Aug. 26, 1928, at Adams, the son of Anthony and Anna (Schneider) Braun. He graduated from the Adams High School and was married to Marietta Janning on June 27, 1950, at Blooming Prairie. Daniel did carpet installations and worked at the Adams Furniture Store. He was also a licensed funeral director and worked at the Adams Funeral Home until the late 1970s.

Dan was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Adams Fire Department, the Commercial Club and the Cedar River Gold Course. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, fishing and playing bingo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marietta, in 2012, a son, Gary Braun, his parents and infant brother, two infant sisters, two stepbrothers and three stepsisters.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jane Braun of St. Paul, Kevin and Lori Braun of Phoenix, Ariz., and Carol Braun of Stewartville; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Rod Miller of LeRoy and Laurie and Jerry Reich of Rochester; grandchildren, Becky, Holly, Natalie, Ashley, Trevor, Brandy, Nick, Jodi, Kelly, Katie and Sarah; 17 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Bernadine and Pete Schmidt of Blooming Prairie; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams, with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be a KC Rosary at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorials are preferred to the Sacred Heart School.
