David Ellsworth Espenson entered into internal life Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013.

He was born to Charles Ross and Esther Bowen Espenson in the township of Cambria, on March 11,1927. David attend New Ulm High School and immediately joined the U.S. Navy after his senior year; he later attended business college in Mankato. While serving his country during World War II, David was recruited to sing in the Navy Choir. Following his Navy career, David continued to share his beautiful voice in church choirs throughout his life. On Dec. 29, 1951, David married Glenna Grace Alexander, in Vesta. David and Glenna resided in Rochester for over 45 years before relocating to Inver Grove Heights in 2010. David worked for New York Life Insurance Company for the majority of his adult life and enjoyed playing handball and golf in his free time.
He is survived by his loving wife, Glenna; three children, Dean (Debra), Robert (Linda) and Jane Espenson (Jeff Davis); five grandchildren, Jillian, Dane, Peter, Alyssa and Leah.
David was preceded in death by his parents and only brother, Howard.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at First Presbyterian Church, 535 20th Ave. N. in South St. Paul.
Family will greet friends on Friday, Sept. 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kandt & Tetrick Funeral Home, 140 8th Ave. No. in South St. Paul. Interment will be in Cambria Cemetery.
