Mr. Moline, 93, of Rochester, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Cottagewood in Rochester.
Edward James Moline was born April 18, 1920, in Circle, Mont., and was raised there. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He earned a degree in business from the University of Minnesota and pursued a career in municipal finance. He married Gunnel Carlson on May 20, 1950, in Minneapolis, and the couple raised three daughters. Following retirement, he returned to his cowboy roots when in 1989 he opened WestWind Acres in Rochester, a family operated horse boarding business.
He was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Rochester Riders Saddle Club. One of the greatest joys of his retirement years was having his six grandsons by his side working on the "ranch."
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and his loving wife of 51 years.
He is survived by his three daughters, Roxanne (Mark) Darnell of Rochester, Wenda (Tom) Bowe of Prescott, Wis., and Sharon (Tim) Renaux of Rochester; six grandsons, Scott (Catherine) Darnell, Andy (Amanda) Bowe, Steve (Kim) Bowe, Matt Bowe, Drew Renaux and Ryan Renaux; and four great-grandchildren, Braiden Darnell, Nolan Bowe, Marshall Bowe and Meadow Bowe.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
