Joseph Bertram Fryer entered in eternal rest Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at the age if 87. Beloved husband of 63 years to Leonette Marie Heck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, S. Smith Fryer and Mabel Alexander Fryer, his brother, Lyle Fryer.
Joseph is the loving and devoted father of Anne Grimmett (husband, Adrian) of Texas, Catherine Gray (husband, David) of Texas, Beth Wallace (husband, Wayne) of Texas, Debora Boyle (husband, Michael) of Texas, Joseph Fryer (wife, Tamara) of Louisiana, Teresa Trauth (husband, Gary) of Louisiana, Janet McAllister (husband, Erik) of Colorado and Paul Fryer (wife, April) of North Carolina. He is the grandfather of, Vanessa, Megan, Karl, Morgan, Chad, Melissa, Keith, Erin, Madelyn, Alexander, Brian, Alison, Amelia and Eamon; the great-grandfather of, Lauren, Emma, Rowan, Kiran, Robbie, Makayla, Madison and Brennan; and the brother of, Vince Fryer of Washington.
Joseph is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, 1950 where he received a bachelor degree in geological engineering. He was employed as a Geologist for Mobil Oil Corporation for 33 years.
He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 3030. He proudly served his country in the Unites States Navy from 1941 until 1946. He was born in Rochester.
Family and friends are asked to attend a brief ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. at Hauser Funeral Home,1205 S. Main St., Charles City Iowa. Interment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery.
