Mark Earle Stedman died at home on his 62nd birthday on Saturday, May 10, 2014.

Mark was born May 10, 1952, in Northfield, the son of Earle and Muriel (Omsberg) Stedman. He grew up in Cannon Falls and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1970. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree in psychology at Winona State University, his master's degree at University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and his Ph.D. in human factors psychology at University of South Dakota in Vermillion. He taught at University of Wisconsin - River Falls, University of Maine in Farmington, Winona State University, and St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
Mark married Gail Olson on May 18, 1987, in Farmington, Maine, and they made their home in Cannon Falls.
He loved fishing, old cars, collecting coins and visiting with his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, James Goudy.
He is survived by his wife, Gail; daughter, Kathryn; sister, Beverly Stedman; and nieces, Jaye Brazicki and Rebecca Previte.
A visitation will be held Saturday, May 17, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Stanton Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
