A Celebration of Life service will be held for Paul D. Nelson on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 2124 Viola Road N.E. in Rochester.
The Guest Book is expired.
Paul passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at 85 years of age.
Paul was born in Goldfield, Iowa, but moved to Rochester after his military service, where he began a 30-year career at IBM. Paul was very proud of his World War II service in the U.S. Army.
He was an avid history and aviation buff. Paul was in Kiwanis, Elks Lodge and volunteered as a Boy Scout leader.
Paul is survived by his wife, Ruth; his five children, Richard, Michael (Vicki), Jeffrey (Shelly), Karen (Scott) and Lisa (friend, Doug); and five grandchildren, Tyler, Samuel, Emma, Sophie and Seth. Paul also has a sister, Mildred; and a brother, Gary (Phyllis).
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Matt; sister-in-law, Jane; and brother-in-law, James.
Paul was buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
All are welcome to join this casual celebration as we share with joy and laughter the wonderful memories of Paul's life.
