Robin Louis Passe, 59, of Wabasha, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 13, 1954, in Wabasha, the son of Harry and Gerene (Brandenburg) Passe. He married Betty Manning Sept. 9, 1978, in Lytton, Iowa. They renewed their vows on Feb. 15, 2014. Robin served his country as a member of U. S. Marine Corps. He served from 1975 until retiring in 1997, attaining the rank of chief warrant officer 3. The family returned to Wabasha at that time and he began his employment at the Mississippi Parkside Marina.
He was a member of the Wabasha American Legion Post #50. He loved fishing on the Mississippi River, woodworking, restoring his vehicles and especially spending time with his family.
Robin is survived by his wife, Betty Passe, Wabasha; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeremiah and Melissa Passe, Minneapolis, Joseph Passe, Minneapolis and Isaiah Passe, Houston, Texas; daughter, Lindsey Passe, San Francisco, Calif.; three grandchildren, Tristan, J.T. and Sophia Passe; siblings, Carrie (Ken) Anway, Cannon Falls, Gary Passe, Wabasha, Holly (Tom) Sayer, Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Kevin Passe, Wabasha and Heidi (Charles) Behrens, St. Charles; special aunt, Louise Haley (Hank Mazurkiewicz), Wabasha; uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Passe and Gerene Wagner and sister, Gerri Passe.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha, with the Rev. James Clausen officiating. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date. Military rites will follow the memorial service and be provided by the U.S. Marine Corps, the Wabasha American Legion Post #50 and the Burkhardt-Roemer VFW Post #4086.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, March 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and one hour before the service on Saturday.
