Cameron, Jr., George Henry
George Henry Cameron, Jr., of Redwood City, California, died Friday, March 29, 2013. He was born November 18, 1933, to George H. Cameron and Anne Gunther Cameron in Neenah, Wisconsin. He attended Appleton public schools, the University of Colorado and was graduated from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958, spending time in the Philippines. When he returned to Wisconsin he became an agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co.
He moved to San Francisco, California in April 1959. After a brief stint as an investment broker he returned to the Northwestern in their San Francisco office and was a Northwestern agent in the Bay Area for the rest of his life.
He married Nancy Wiggin in San Francisco in 1961. They moved to Redwood City in 1964. George enjoyed spending time with his family both at home and in the out of doors. An avid trout fisherman, he spent significant time with his children fishing in the streams and lakes of the high sierras as well as viewing and photographing wildlife around the country with his family.
George spent his life taking care of others with uncommon grace and wisdom. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched and therefore enhanced.
An active and involved member of the communities in which he lived, he is survived by, and will remain cherished by his wife, Nancy Cameron; two children, David Cameron of Discovery Bay, California; and Anne Cameron of Park City, Utah; and his sister, Jean Cameron Riordan of Seabrook, Texas.
