Biekkola, Richard C. "Bieks"

Richard C. Biekkola, age 61, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, following complications after surgery. Ric was born on January 20, 1952, in Milwaukee, son of the late George and Margie (Allen) Biekkola. He graduated from Calumet High School, Calumet, Michigan in 1970. He was in the ROTC, and attended Suomi University and Lake Superior State College. Ric loved to golf, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed throwing darts and fantasy football. He was huge Packer fan, University of Michigan "Go blue" and the Chicago Cubs. He managed numerous bars/restaurants in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Ric is survived by his children: Michelle (Dan) Freeman; Aimee (Henry) Dunbar; Greg (Leah) Stelse and Tony Stelse, all of New London. 5 sisters, Susie (Tom) "Suds" Laurie, Ahmeek, Michigan; Mary Beth (Sal) Biekkola; Jill (Dave) Ritchie; Peggy Biekkola and Nancy (Kevin) Wegner, all of New London. He is further survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ric will be held on Monday, January, 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. and also on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Calgary Cemetery, Ahmeek, Michigan.
