Robert Seiler Obituary
Seiler, Robert D. "Big Doc"

Robert D. "Big Doc" Seiler, 87, of Neenah, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Bridgewood Nursing Center with his loving family at his side.

Bob was born December 5, 1925, in Neenah, the son of the late Truman and Esther (Tetzlaff) Seiler. He grew up in Neenah and following his graduation from high school served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. After the war he was united in marriage to Marguerite "Dottie" Mickelson on December 3, 1949, in Larsen. Bob was a police officer with the Neenah Police Department, beginning his career in law enforcement in 1956 and retiring in 1985. Bob also had other job interests during his tenure as a police officer - he was a painter, a courier for Kimberly-Clark, and a chauffeur. Magic was a talent that Bob shared with many others and he belonged to the Houdini Club of Wisconsin. Bob was a Free & Accepted Mason and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed spending time and making memories with his children and grandchildren at his cabin in Saxeville, which he aptly considered "God's Country."

He will be sadly missed by two sons, Mark Seiler (Pam), Waukau, and John Seiler, Oshkosh; a daughter, Holly (Tim) Hoks, Neenah; his grandchildren: Travis (Courtney), Kristin (boyfriend, Remy), and Sarah (Cory); and great grandchildren: Evan, Braylon, Halea, Cayson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Truman, and a sister, June; and was reunited with his beloved wife, Marguerite when she passed on Thursday, July 25, 2013.

The joint Memorial service for Robert and Marguerite will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church (809 S. Commercial Street) with Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Military honors will be conducted by the Neenah Menasha Veterans' Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
