Baker, Russell A.

Russell Allen Baker, age 58, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his home. Russ was born May 20, 1955 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin the son of Russell G. and Beverly (Bailey) Baker. He was a 1973 Oconomowoc High School graduate. Following graduation he went to work for ATT. Russ enlisted in the US Air Force in 1974 and served his country until November of 1977 and was honorably discharged at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. After serving his country, Russ returned to work for ATT as a data electronics tech for several more years until his retirement in 2011. Russ's greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending their various activities. He was a member of Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church in Appleton and the American Legion Post #38 of Appleton.

Russ is survived by his four loving children, Jason Baker and his fiancée Charlene Harrison and their children, James and Amelia; Adam (Jennifer) Baker, and their children, Taylor, Steven and Aaron; Ben (Val) Baker, and their children, Alana and Jacob; and Megan (Mike) Bauler, and their children, Eli and Carson; he also survived by his father, Russell G., and the mother of his children, Anna (Teetzen) Baker, and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Russ was also preceded in death by his mother, Beverly and a brother, Steven.

A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Friday, October 18, 2013 at Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church, 930 E. Florida Avenue, Appleton with Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Military Honors will follow the service at the church. Russell's family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 9:00AM until the hour of service.
