Krahl, Tom

Tom L. Krahl age 71, of Wild Rose, WI passed away at Theda Clark Medical Center on Friday June 13,2014.He was born March 3,1943 in Avon,IL, the son of Myrtle and Walter Krahl. Tom married Marcia Weber aboard a cruise ship in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on St. Patrick's Day 1992.

Tom was a Marine machine gunner in Vietnam. He was particularly proud of his sharp shooter status and received 2 purple hearts during his tour of duty. Tom owned and operated several businesses including a pawn shop, he was a fire arms dealer and was recognized by his peers as an expert on antique slot machines. His company Krahl Klassic Antiques supplied parts for hobbyists and dealers all over the world. Tom loved playing cards in almost any form and swapping stories with his cronies. He also enjoyed hunting with his sons and buddies at a deer camp near Tomahawk, WI for many years and taking fishing trips to Canada. He was happy when he purchased his own land on which to live and hunt just north of Wild Rose. That property fulfilled another life's dream of hobby farming, birds in many forms being his particular passion, although critters of many types resided there.

Tom is survived by his wife, Marcia, three sons Roger (Dawn Holic) Krahl, Doug (Kathy Urban) Krahl, Eric Krahl, 4 grandchildren Preston, Brooklyn, Madison, and Aubrey, all residing in Illinois. He has three sisters Colleen Smith, Eris Knakmuhs, Jewel Bordner, and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Carol Murray.

There will be a celebration of life held at the Wild Rose Hotel from 2-4pm on Saturday June 21, 2014.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund in Tom's name is being established at Farmers State Bank in Wild Rose, WI.
