Hopfensperger, James "Jim" Robert

Jim Hopfensperger peacefully passed away at home on Sunday June 26, 2016.

Jim was born October 13, 1920 in Kaukauna to John and Monica (Melody) Hopfensperger. He married Dolores Ouellette on December 28, 1946 at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly. Jim served 39 months in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Scout and Raider during the invasion of Sicily, Normandy, and Southern France. He then served in the Pacific until the end of the war.

Jim was employed at Appleton Machine Company for 4 years and at The Post-Crescent for 33 years where he retired as Credit Manager. Jim was a past director of the Association of Credit Management and former manager to the PC Credit Union. Jim was active in Boy Scouts and a member of Holy Cross Church.

Jim is survived by his wife Dolores of 69 years; two daughters Nancy (Don) Rademacher of Appleton, Mary of Eugene, Oregon; six sons: Pat (Cindy) of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, John (Neenah), Tom (Deb) of Kaukauna, Paul (Denise) of Carlsbad, California, Jim (Sherry) of Kaukauna, David (Natalie) of Mesa, Arizona. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 3 step- grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and by his wife's sisters Betty Treder and Patricia Kluge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Robert; sisters: Bette Hopfensperger and Patricia Koenen.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Holy Cross Catholic Church. The family would like to sincerely thank Affinity Visiting Nurses for their tender care shown to Jim, especially Laurie, and also the staff at Theda Care, Midway Road office; especially Lisa Gunderson and Jan.

Dear Aunt Dolores and family. We are very sorry for everyone's lost.I really enjoyed talking to Uncle Jim . I am sure that along with God, Dad, Jim Kluge, Joe Mc Cann, Harry Bobber and many more people that were a part of Jim's life ,they were all there to greet him into Heaven. Love Peggy and Betty.
