DAVID "DAVE" SELWYN II
68, of Melbourne, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on July 25, 2013. David was born on March 10, 1945 in the Bellevue area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to David Selwyn Huysman I and Elizabeth "Betty" McQuown Huysman. He graduated from Edgewood High School and Carnegie Mellon University, and spent his career as a highly respected civil engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Miami, Orlando, and Melbourne, Florida. He was recently honored by Florida Governor Rick Scott for his considerable contribution to the fire protection industry. David is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Huysman of Melbourne; son, David Selwyn Huysman III (Kristy) of Sanford; daughter, Dr. Mary Huysman of Atlanta; sister, Dr. Betsy Halden (Peter) of Melbourne; former wife, Cynthia Stone Huysman of Lake Mary; and eight loving cousins. Services will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 106 North Riverside Drive, Indiatlantic, Florida 32903 on Thursday, August 1 at 10:30 a.m. Interment services will be held at Palm Cemetery at 1005 N.
