1925 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Age 89, of Moon Township, died peacefully on August 9, 2014, with his two children at his side. He was born in Coraopolis on January 20, 1925, the son of the late Antonio and Madalena (Collangelo) Lamarca, and was a proud graduate of Coraopolis High School Class of 1942. A WWII veteran who was awarded the purple heart, Edward was a lead B17 Navigator in the 384th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force, United States Army. He honorably served his country from 1943 through 1947 when he was discharged with the rank of Captain. Edward's greatest source of pride was his military service to his country. He felt a deep and lifelong debt of gratitude for the patriotism, experience, and insight that those years imparted to him. Edward graduated with a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1949, and was employed by Wolverine World Wide in 1950, where he remained a sales representative for 45 years, retiring at the age of 70! He loved his job and possessed a true talent for sales. He married Violet Illuminati in 1955, and they had two children, Crisanne and Edward. For many decades, he enjoyed vegetable gardening, horseshoes and the upkeep of his property, which he affectionately referred to as "God's Little Green Acre". Edward regularly expressed love and appreciation for his two "kids" and was an adoring grandpa to his two grandchildren who he loved to spoil with Klondikes and many greater extravagances. The most pervasive sentiment which overwhelmed Ed for the majority of his 89 years was "gratitude". He was grateful for the opportunity to serve his country, grateful for his employment, his family, for the food on his table, the roof over his head, and for the birch tree in his front yard. He was a man who regularly counted his blessings, and was inclined to dwell on his tremendous good fortune, rather than ponder his sorrows. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years in 2010, Violet Lamark; and by a sister, Evelyn Levendosky. He is survived by two children, Crisanne Lamark Tellin (William), Mt. Lebanon, Edward A. Lamark, Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Lawton and Ivy Tellin; a brother, Herman Lamarca; and a sister, Elissa Lamarca. Friends will be received on Thursday, August 14, 2014, from 10 a.m., until time of Military Honors Service at 12 Noon in the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MOON TWP., (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.) Private entombment will take place in Coraopolis Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (
