Obituary Condolences

Of North Braddock, age 85, on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Devoted husband of the late Joan (Leavor) Mandak for many years; beloved father to Eddie Mandak of Beaver Falls, Stephen (Beverly) Mandak of Plum, and Gregory Mandak of Beaver Falls; dear grandfather of Jaymie (Ken) Cross, Melanie Mandak, and Michelle Mandak; great-grandfather of Sylvia and Hazel Cross. Preceded in death by sisters, Mary and Anne; and brothers, Mike and John. Ed was a WWII Navy veteran and a retired school teacher of the Rankin, General Braddock and Woodland Hills area for 33 years. Ed graduated from Waynesburg College and was a member of the Wiley/KEC football team. He was an avid bowler until the age of 84. Ed was a member of the Braddock Elks Lodge #883 and the PSEA. Friends welcome Friday from 2-8 p.m. at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME, 700 Linden Ave., East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800), where a Parastas will be held at 3 p.m. An Office of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Orthodox Church in Rankin on Saturday at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American , 444 Liberty Ave., Suite 1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
