Obituary Condolences

Age 77, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 in Pittsburgh, while surrounded by his loving family. Born August 15, 1936 in Brownsville, PA, he was the son of the late Peter and Donetta (DeVito) Citrone. Eugene was a proud graduate of Saint Vincent College and the University of Notre Dame with degrees in chemistry, chemical engineering and advanced work in pulp and paper technology. Since returning to Pittsburgh in 1975 he was National Marketing Manager for several divisions of Dravo Corp, later Eugene began Dynaspan of Pennsylvania and was the President and CEO of Process Plants Corporation (PPC) in Cranberry Township. During his career, he was involved in technical service, marketing, new business development, engineering and construction project implementation, and general management of an engineering construction company. He was an active member of St. Ferdinand Parish in Cranberry Township where he served as a former Eucharistic Minister and Parish Council President. He was involved with the Pittsburgh Cursillo Movement for many years. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 54 years, Shirley (Dunlap) Citrone; his five adoring children, Eugene F. (Trisha) Citrone, Jr., John E. (Jennifer) Citrone, Cynthia A. (Douglas) Witt, his exchange student son from Zaragoza, Spain, Juan (Odile) Munoz , Timothy P. (Frances) Citrone and Mark S. Poydence Citrone; his brother, Robert L. (Francine) Citrone; his sister-in-law, Mickey (Kolesa) Citrone; his 13 loving grandchildren, Eugene F. "Geno" Citrone III, Francesca M. Citrone, Genevieve R. Citrone, John E. Citrone II, Nicholas D. Citrone, Amber L. Witt, Autumn M. Witt, Tiffany D. Witt, Jessica L. (Sean) McAdams, Julia A. (Thomas) Santiago, Rebecca B. McGaw, Timothy P. Citrone II and Victoria M. Citrone; his two precious great-grandchildren, Amelia A. Santiago and Connor D. McAdams; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his two sons, Christopher and David Citrone; his sister, Genevieve Citrone; his brother, Dr. Peter J. Citrone; and his grandson, Joshua Douglas Witt. The Citrone family will welcome friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the GLENN - KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 130 Wisconsin Avenue, Cranberry Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, with Fr. John Gallagher, celebrant. (FRIENDS PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). He will be laid to rest in the St. Vincent Cemetery in Latrobe.
