WILT JEAN-MARIE (LaBAR)
86, of Upper St. Clair, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Born October 2, 1927, in Allentown, PA, raised in Bangor, PA by loving parents, the late Paul Reuben LaBar and Ruth Stiles LaBar. Beloved wife of the late Charles R. Wilt, Jr., she is survived by brother, Paul LaBar of Palmyra, VA, and preceded in death by brother, Robert James LaBar of Lords Valley, PA. She is survived by children, Karen (Richard) Lewis, Philip (Cindy) Wilt, Eileen (Thomas) Pike, and Linda (Michael) McCarthy; and grandchildren, Rosemary Pike, Adrian Wilt, Katie Lewis, Thomas Pike, Margaret Lewis, Megan Flannery, David Pike, and Joseph Flannery. A graduate of Penn State University in 1949 (BS Education), Jean was awarded Master of Library Science at the University of Pittsburgh in 1976. Jean worked as Librarian at the Eva K. Bowlby Library in Waynesburg, PA, at the VA Hospital Library in Aspinwall, PA, and later as the Chief Librarian of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library in Carnegie, PA. She was an avid storyteller and gardener, and admired for her razor sharp wit and intelligence. Jean will be missed by everyone touched by her unconditional love and acceptance.
