JOHN HULL, JR.
Of Pittsburgh and Nantucket, MA, died peacefully on June 5, 2013, at the age of 91. Born in Pittsburgh, Jack, as he was universally known, was educated at Shady Side Academy, the Phillips Exeter Academy and Princeton University. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps as an air traffic controller in North Africa during WWII. Upon earning his law degree from Cornell he practiced law at Reed Smith in Pittsburgh until his retirement. He was a long-time member of the Duquesne Club, Pittsburgh Golf Club, Sankaty Head Golf Club of Nantucket, and the Nantucket Yacht Club. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean; a daughter, Diana of Pittsburgh; a son, Hugh, of Nantucket; and a sister, Marcia Butterwick, of Norfolk, England. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC., 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street (www.freyvogelfuneral home.com) on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral and Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Children's Institute, 1405 Shady Ave., Pgh, PA 15217.
