SAMBUCO JOSEPHINE (CAVICCHIA)|
100 years old, of Turtle Creek, PA, passed away on April 23, 2014. She was born March 19, 1914, in Linhart, PA. Josephine married Virgil Sambuco on July 8, 1933. They were married for 57 years until he passed away in 1990. They had two children, Virgil Sambuco, Jr. and Phyllis Garforth, who are both deceased. Josephine has six grandchildren, Christine Garforth, Heather Garforth Dekker, Gerald Garforth, Jodie Sambuco, Wayne Sambuco, and Gina Sambuco. Josephine also has six great-grandchildren and one more expected this summer. Josephine was one of ten children. Her living siblings are Antoinette Wilson and Rose Miller of Turtle Creek, PA, and Richard Cavicchia of Munhall, PA. Deceased are Katherine Thomas, Ann Maniago, Faye DeVay, Salvatore Cavicchia, Mike Cavicchia, and Carmine Caveeck. Josephine worked as a waitress at Edgewood Country Club and Churchill Valley Country Club well into her mid 80s. She had a strong work ethic and did not want to stop working. On Monday, April 28, 2014, a viewing will be held at MAURICE L. KNEE, LTD. FUNERAL HOME, 7663 Saltsburg Road (across from S & T Bank) Plum, PA 15239, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Colman R.C. Church, 100 Tri-Boro Expy., Turtle Creek, PA 15145 at 11:00 a.m. Josephine will then be buried in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Monroeville, PA with her family.
