46, of Canonsburg, formerly of Upper St. Clair, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife for 20 years to Michael "Elmo" Fisher; loving mother to Grayling M., Riley F., and Regen E. Fisher; cherished daughter to Faye (Barton) Augenstein (the late Roy W.); dear sister to Kristen (Joe) Augenstein-Sabol; devoted aunt to Alexander "Willie" and Nicholas Sabol; daughter-in-law to Yourd and Betty Fisher; sister-in-law to Amy "Moosie" (Gary) Freilino and their sons, Zachary, Lucas, Nick, and Tommy Freilino and Robert (Joyce) Fisher and their sons, Justin, Andrew and Matt Fisher; also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Jen Mackey who was most supportive during her illness. Karen was a graduate of Penn State University and was an avid Nittany Lion football fan. She worked as a Director of Quality Control for 20 years in the food industry. Karen loved to travel and go on cruises with her family. She will be remembered by her friends as someone who was very loyal, caring, devoted, and responsible. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday in BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211). A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in Ruthfred Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve P. Carlson officiating. Please add tributes at:
