Surrounded by his loving family at his home on Saturday, April 26, 2014, age 89, of Wilmerding. He was a WWII US Navy veteran and was retired from the Westinghouse Airbrake Co. in Wilmerding. A son of the late Charles and Marie Cigler; beloved husband of Helen (Nejak) Cigler; loving father of Gary (Chrisann) Cigler and David Cigler (Michele Cigler); dear grandfather of Tony (Ali) Capone, Kristin (David) Lydic and Bryan (Angela) Cigler; great-grandfather of Chloe and Max Capone and Kylee and Davey Lydic; brother of the late Charles, Albert, James and Marie Cigler; brother-in-law of Dolly (the late Bob) Evelius, the late Olga (Steve) Dobrenich, Kay (Milo) Speranzo, Nicholas (Catherine) Nejak, Joanna "Eppie" (Joe) Rubino and Frank "Midnight" Nejak. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved him; and was the dear friend of Mildred "Toto" Rizzo and family. He was also preceded in death by his children's mother, Virginia Wingard; nephew, Milo Speranzo; and great-nephew, Nevin Hartman. Family and friends received ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, PA 15148 (412)-824-4332 on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. Blessing Service in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
