MARY BARBARA "BARB"
Of Point Breeze, on Friday, March 28, 2014, age 58, after living with cancer for two years. Beloved mother of Eva Curlee; daughter of the late Neil and Jane Curlee; sister of Joe Curlee (Jane), Ginny Koenig (Mark), Anne Smith (Don), Judy Curlee, and Patricia Sabolsky (Mike); aunt of Jim and Grace Curlee, Annie Garner (Ian), Reed and Leah Koenig, David Smith, Anna, Olivia and Roman Sheridan, and Michael Hermenault. Barb graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1977 and spent the next two years in Portland with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. She returned to Pittsburgh and began her career as a registered dietician. Barb spent her entire adult life working to improve the health and well-being of others. She had an incredible gift for making lifelong friends, including Tereza Suchankova, an exchange student from the Czech Republic, who remains a part of our family today. Barb loved to create meals as she entertained her many friends. She also enjoyed taking road trips and traveling the world with Evie, her daughter, and love of her life. Barb's family wishes to thank the staff at Magee-Womens Hospital and also Canterbury Place for the incredible care she received. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC.
