On Sunday, June 8, 2014, Paul Vincent Logue passed away at age 90. Born in Pittsburgh on February 29, 1924, he was the son of the late Patrick Joseph and Madeline Criste Logue. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Francesca Hilbish Logue; children, Francesca Anderson (Bradley), Brooklyn, NY, Susan McBride (William), Raleigh, NC, Patrick Logue, Scottsdale, AZ, James Logue (Carol), Fox Chapel, PA, and Genie Herbert (Gary), Bryn Mawr, PA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Florence Logue Olliffe, Mildred Logue; and his brother, Rev. James P. Logue. Paul attended Central Catholic High School. He was a veteran of World War II, leading a transportation company with Patton's Third Army in Northern Europe. After the liberation of Europe, he returned to the US berthed in the empty swimming pool of the Queen Mary. He attained the rank of captain and was awarded the Bronze Star. After the war, he graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. His business career began with Yellow Cab in Pittsburgh, then went to Chicago as VP of Checker Cab and President of Yellow Cab and ended in Pittsburgh as owner of Automotive Ignition. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Field Club and the Duquesne Club. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC., 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street. Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, June 11, 2014, Mass of Christian Burial St. Scholastica Church 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Univ. of Pittsburgh/William Follansbee Master Clinician Chair, Mail to: UPMC Medical & Health Sciences Foundation, Forbes Tower, Suite 8084, 3600 Forbes at Meyran Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
