Of Turtle Creek, age 63, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2013. Born with Down Syndrome, the doctors told her parents that she would not live to see her first birthday. Boy, did she prove them wrong. Rosie was the light of the Silverio family. She brought so much joy and happiness to all who knew her. Rosie's kind of caring soul taught all the meaning of unconditional love. She loved music, especially listening to her favorite singer, Patsy Cline. Rosie loved spending time at her sister's house, playing the piano and listening to Italian polkas. Some of her favorite pastimes were coloring, blowing bubbles, and watching her idol, Whoopi Goldberg, on The View. She also enjoyed bowling, especially the Friday Night Ladies League, along with camping and participating in Special Olympics. Rosie attended the Community Life Center in McKeesport three days a week, and had also attended the New Beginning, ATF in East McKeesport for 30 years. Rosie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Maria (Rossetti) and Edward Silverio. She is survived by her brothers, Ed (Debi) Silverio of Ohio and Joe (Cheryl) Silverio of Trafford; and sister, Maria Beth (Ashley Hampton) Silverio of Monroeville. She also leaves behind her special friend and love of her life, Jim Lucy, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends welcome Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 2-8 p.m. at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME, TURTLE CREEK / MONROEVILLE CHAPEL, 1111 Monroeville Avenue at James St., Turtle Creek (412-823-9350). Mass of Christian Burial in St. Colman Church on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
