A lifelong resident of Chalfant, age 84, on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Sandra D. (Yoha) Cvetnic, who died on the same date, April 17, two years ago in 2012. Father of William D. Cvetnic, M.D. of Florida. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose Cvetnic; his sisters, Caroline Polesnak and Betty Palocsko; and his nephew, Fr. Roman Polesnak. Uncle of Sandy Palocsko of California and Gene Palocsko of Philadelphia; brother-in-law of Patsy (Yoha) and Gene Krenicky of West Mifflin. Bill was a Korean War Army veteran and a retired mechanical engineer from Aetna Standard Engineering Co. He was also a renowned musician of Tamburitza music and, in 1996, Bill was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Tamburitza Association of America in Milwaukee. Bill played with various Tamburitza groups over the years, such as the Balkan Four, Danny Kukich Orchestra, Balkan Serenaders, Dunav and Novi Glas. He performed throughout the country with his groups and once played at a banquet for the late King Peter of Yugoslavia while he was visiting Pittsburgh. Not only was Bill a musician playing the tambura, the prim and the bugarija, but he also made musical instruments. Along with his love of music, Bill was a longtime season ticketholder and staunch fan of Pittsburgh Steelers and he was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, Lodge #141.
