Prominent trial attorney and partner of Clark Hill Thorp Reed, Bill passed away on October 21, 2013, with his family by his side. Born in Pittsburgh on January 1, 1941, he graduated from Shadyside Academy and Cornell University. After law school at Northwestern University, he returned to Pittsburgh to join Thorp Reed and Armstrong. He was an active member of the community serving as Chairman of the Board of both Pressley Ridge and The Children's Home of Pittsburgh. He was also Chairman of the Board of the Pittsburgh Dance Council and President of the Pittsburgh Golf Club. He was an avid golfer, fly fisherman and skier, with a passion for adventure. His love for travel, nature and a concern for the environment led to his becoming a Trustee for the PA chapter of the Nature Conservancy. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debby; his daughter, Ann, her husband, Mark Wheadon and their daughter, Olivia, who live in San Diego; his son, Pieter, his wife, Lisa, and their sons, Desmond, Finn, and Fredrik, who live in Seattle; and his half-brother, Dan Wycoff; and his two half-sisters, Mary Wycoff and Julie Evans. He was well loved and touched the lives of many. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC., 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street, on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Services and interment private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Children's Home, Pressley Ridge and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
