MICHAEL PEROK Obituary
MICHAEL A.
Age 95, of Findlay Twp., Imperial, PA, on Sunday evening, March 9, 2014. Beloved husband of 63 years to Rose Marie (Zajac) Perok; beloved father of Mary Ann Perok, Michelle "Shelly" Perok, and the late Victoria "Vicky" Perok, who passed on September 2, 1969; brother of the late Pauline Marflak, Elias Perock, Mary Perock, Joseph Perock, Anthony Perock, and Helen Kukla; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was a member of St. Columbkille R.C. Church, band leader of the former "Michael Perok and the Cavaliers" and with the "Happy Slovenians." He played the accordion on radio station WRYO Rochester, PA, and WBVP Beaver Falls, PA, and numerous Pittsburgh radio stations. He retired from J & L Steel, Aliquippa, after 30 years of service. He served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he spearheaded for General Patton. He was a life member of the VFW Montour Valley, Post 7714, Imperial, and a life member of the SNPJ Lodge #106, Imperial. Family to receive friends at the WHARTON-HERRICK FUNERAL HOME, Edward M. Herrick Funeral Director/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Rd., N. Fayette Twp., Imperial, PA, 724-695-7332, Thurs., March 13, 2014, 7-9 p.m. and Fri., March 14, 2014, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Columbkille R.C. Church, Rt. 30, Imperial, Sat., March 15, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment with full military honors in St. Columbkille Cemetery.
