Chuck Irwin Obituary

Charles "Chuck" A. Irwin, 79, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2013.

Chuck was born in Pittsburgh on June 17, 1934.

He joined the Air Force in 1956, where he proudly served our country for 20 years. During his service, he was stationed in Japan, where he met his wife, Shigeko, and they were married in 1964.

Chuck retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel in 1976. After his retirement, Chuck and Shigeko pursued his dream of establishing a home and dinner club in beautiful Alta, Wyo. Together, they built and opened the Inn Lost Horizon Dinner Club and began service in 1976. Over the years they met and enjoyed the company of many dinner guests, all the while developing many close friendships.

After 32 years of service, Chuck and Shigeko felt that they had fulfilled their dream and decided to retire in 2009. Together they enjoyed traveling the world and perusing other hobbies.

Chuck's hobbies kept him busy, as he spent his spare time building model ships, working around the yard and maintaining their home in Alta. Chuck was an honorable husband, and friend to many. He loved a good conversation and entertaining others with his humor and advice.

Chuck's passion and enthusiasm for life will be greatly missed.
