Dewaine Jensen Obituary

Dewaine "Bud" Price Jensen, 82, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Tucson, Ariz., from complications incident to age.

He was born May 4, 1931, in Idaho Falls to Louella Rowe and Erastus Price Jensen. Dewaine grew up in Menan, Idaho. At a young age, his father was killed in an accident. As a teenager, he entered the military, which became a career.

He married Marlene Marshall in Rigby in 1950. Three children were born to this union. They were later divorced.

He then married Vivian Graham Hughes on April 21, 1957. He and Vivian lived in many different states because of his military and airline career.

Dewaine flew for the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years and retired with the rank of major. He also worked as a pilot for United Airlines until his early 50s, when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. A big part of his life was the pleasure he gained from dancing. It was an activity he continued up until a week before his death.

Dewaine is survived by his children, Gerry (Tracy) Morris of Boise, Richard (Laurie) Jensen of Challis, JoLyn (Wynn) Briggs of Teton and Garrett Hughes of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Bonnie (Kent) Geisler of Lorenzo; and brothers, Martell (Eunice) Schneiter of Menan and Norman (Connie) Schneiter of Idaho Falls.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian; his parents; a stepfather, Amos Schneiter; his sister, Geraldine Jensen; his son, Gerald Jensen; three infant sons; and a granddaughter, Jenni Morris.

A memorial service will be held in Tucson in early January and a graveside service in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery at a later date.
