John Edward Bennard, 65, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at his home. He was under the care of OneSource Hospice.
John was born June 23, 1948, in Brockton, Mass., to John Edward Bennard and Cecelia Marise Brassard Bennard. He grew up and attended schools in Brock-ton. John served as a sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a submarine welder. After the war, he worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and as a welder.
John lived in Idaho Falls since 1988, where he worked as a drywall finisher. He enjoyed golf and riding his Harley.
John is survived by his daughters, Kerriann Bennard of Jacksonville, Fla., and Michelle Cheffon of Killderil, N.C.; mother, Cecelia Marise Bennard of Wyandotte, Mich.; brother, Donald Reed Bennard of Wyandotte, Mich.; sisters, Carol Douton of Connecticut and Gene Petersen of California; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave.
