Norma Jensen Obituary

Norma Chambers Jensen, 59, of Ammon, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in Murray, Utah, of cardiac complications.

Norma was born July 28, 1953, in Riverton, Wyo., to Don Wesley Chambers and Lois Sorensen Chambers.

The family moved to Utah, and Norma grew up in Ogden and Hooper, Utah.

On Sept. 17, 1975, she married Scott Alan Jensen in the Manti, Utah, LDS Temple. That same year, she graduated from Utah State University with a dual degree in early childhood education and elementary education. She loved her time at Utah State.

After college, Scott and Norma moved to Idaho, where Norma worked as an elementary school teacher. She worked at many schools, including Edgemont and Bush elementary schools. Norma loved teaching and felt it was her calling in life.

Norma's first love and devotion was her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, being active outdoors and sewing things for her children and grandchildren.

She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a firm testimony of her savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith and testimony were very important to her.

Norma is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Scott Jensen of Ammon; sons, Alan (Dianna) Jensen of Independence, Mo., and Daniel (Ashley) Jensen of Idaho Falls; daughters, Erin (Jason) Enger of Ammon, Marci (Alan) Stoffer of Madison, Wis., and Lara (Brent) Mortensen of Ames, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, with two more on the way; sisters, Loretta Rice of Salt Lake City and Rhonda Osborn of Denver; and brother, Dave Chambers of Flagstaff, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Chambers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the Ammon LDS 5th Ward, 2055 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Randy Collins officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.
