Robert G. "Bob" Burke died at home in Kirkland, Washington, on Monday, May 20, 2013.
He was born to Elgin Burke and Isobel "Tibby" Moir Burke June 28, 1939, at the west end of Mill Road, west of Idaho Falls.
He graduated from high school in Idaho Falls in 1952. He got his degree in architecture from University of Washington in Seattle and started working as an architect. After two years as a chaplain's assistant during the Korean War, he got his master's degree in urban planning while working for the Port of Seattle. He served on many Washington State and national planning boards, with one representing 16 western states. He held offices and directorships and received many awards for his work. He spent the last 17 years of his career as president of McConnel/Burke, Inc.
Bob is survived by his soul mate of some 20 years, Barbara Loomis; his four children; and 12 grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, July 6, at Heritage Hall at the base of Heritage Park in Kirkland, Washington. His body was interred in his beloved town of Kirkland.
