Virginia Kyner Jancewicz Obituary

Margaret Virginia Kyner Jancewicz, 96, of Victor, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Homestead Homes in Rexburg. She was under the care of Solace Hospice.

Virginia was born July 22, 1916, in Humeston, Iowa, to Roy Kyner and Mary Ford Kyner. She grew up in Humeston, where she graduated from Humeston Public School and continued her education at the University of Iowa. She earned her bachelor's degree and worked in nursing.

She met and married Victor Jancewicz, and together they had three children.

She was a member of the Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO), chapter BI. She also enjoyed reading and knitting.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean Benedict; son, Nick Jancewicz; and sister, Jan Gowin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son, Frank Jancewicz.

A gathering will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. She will be buried in Last Chance Cemetery in Lucas County, Iowa, sometime this summer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO), c/o Harker, 576 Safstrom Place, Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
