Francesco "Frank" Caleo

Lagrangeville - LAGRANGEVILLE - Francesco " Frank" Caleo, 96, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Castle Point VAMC.

Frank was born in the Bronx on September 20, 1917. He was the son of the late Joseph and Elsie (Perrotta) Caleo. He attended public schools in the Bronx including Textile High School in the 1930's.

Frank proudly served our country in the US Army as a platoon sergeant during WWII. He retired from the US Post Office in the Bronx in 1969 after more than 20 years of service as a letter carrier.

Frank was a beloved long time member of the Trinity United Methodist Church is Lagrangeville. He was a former member of BPOE #275 and the Polish American Club.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; his daughters, Phyllis Gillick of New Jersey and Donna Schreiner of Hopewell Junction; his stepchildren, Jacolyn Culotta and her husband Carl of North Carolina, Cliff Hall of North Carolina, Nancy Martinez and her husband Tony of Poughquag, and Rich Hall and his wife Yumi of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, John Gillick and his wife Cheryl, Michael Milkofsky, Daniela Hall, Sarah and David Cullotta, Christa and Alyssa Martinez, and Anna and Daniel Hall;

And his sisters, Madeline Ney of Wisconsin and Jeannie Russo of Rockland County. He is predeceased by his first wife, Stella Protzko in 1976; his brother, Ferdinand "Lenny"; his daughter, Francis Milkofsky; his son-in-law, John Gillick; and his grandson, Joseph Gillick.
