Francis W. "Bill" Peters, Jr.
The Guest Book is expired.
Milton - Francis W. "Bill" Peters, Jr., of Milton, NY, a lifetime area resident, entered into rest on Thursday, August 14, 2014. He was 68.
Son of the late Francis W. Peters, Sr. and Elizabeth (Dougherty) Peters, Bill was born July 6, 1946 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He married Barbara Jean Molson on July 19, 1969 in St. Charles Church, Gardiner, NY. Barbara survives at home.
Bill proudly served his country in the US Air Force where he received an Honorable Discharge. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed family and friends get-togethers, and especially enjoyed having his daughters and grandchildren in his home. His family was the joy of his life and he couldn't spoil them enough. He was "Dad" to his daughters, "Papa" to his grandkids, and soul mate to his wife Barbara. He will be missed more than words can say and will be in our hearts always. He was an avid reader and also loved fishing, especially if he could bring along a grandchild or two!
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; his daughters, Kristine Taylor and her husband James of Maybrook and Theresa Hart of New Paltz; his sister, Lizbeth Nassar of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren, Michael, Zachary and James Taylor IV of Maybrook, and Nicholas, Jacquelyn, Chelsea and Brooke Hart of New Paltz; and nieces and nephews, George, David and Dwight Dougherty, Melissa Tomkins, Courtney Hopkins and Scott Nassar. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Ann Peters.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Monday, August 18 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 19 at the funeral home, with entombment with military honors following in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.
