Gordon "Gordy" W. Thorn

Beacon - Gordon "Gordy" W. Thorn of Beacon, 82, died August 16, 2014 in Magnolia, TX. He was born in Beacon, NY on November 12, 1931 to Walter E. Thorn and Helen Thorn. On August 3, 1980 he married his wife, Jean M. Thorn. Gordy worked as a metal lather after serving in the Army during the Korean War, 1951 - 1954. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and had been a member of the East Hook Gun Club. He loved to play Pinnacle tournaments as well as playing it with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Thorn. Daughter, Kim Zotto and her husband Rocky Zotto of Oakville, CT. Daughter, Sharon Arbusto and her husband Fred Arbusto of Little River, SC. Son, Bill Johnson and his wife Laura Johnson of Magnolia, TX. Son, Jim Johnson and his wife Cathy of Tickfaw, LA. Grandchildren, Vinnie Zotto, Deena Zotto, Heather Arbusto, Ray Arbusto, Ashley Johnson, Brandon Johnson and Chelsea Johnson. Sister, Shirley Lucas and her husband Mike. As well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Thorn, Jack Thorn and his sister Charlotte Cornyea.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Gordy Thorn will be held at Magnolia Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you to make a donation to the . Condolences can be left at http://magnoliafunerals.com/obits/
