Glen Spey - John S. Natoli, 75, of Glen Spey, NY and formerly of Dutchess County entered eternal rest on May 4, 2014 at home.
He was born on February 20, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY to the late John and Elvira Natoli. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1964. John was an Engineering Foreman for Castle Point VA Hospital for many years and after retirement continued to tirelessly volunteer for the veterans. John was recognized by Former President William Clinton with the 1000 Points Of Light. He was awarded this for his efforts in providing a phone to the bedside of every veteran in a VA Hospital thru a program called "PT Phone Home". He was also an Auxiliary Reserve in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a first responder to 9-11. John was a long standing member of the Beacon Fur, Fin & Feather Association of Beacon, NY.
He is survived by his three children, John D. Natoli and his wife, Laura, Vincent A. Natoli and his wife, Wendy, and Francine Natoli; a grandson, U.S. Army Specialist Michael Natoli and his wife, Ariel. He is also survived by his sister, Angela Pakruda and brother, Anthony Natoli and his wife, Olga; nephews, Christopher and Garrett Natoli; great nephew, Lucian Natoli. He had many loyal friends, especially, Patricia Shannon and his faithful companion, his dog, Dutchess.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery with full military honors.
