Josephine Quaresimo

Poughkeepsie - Josephine M. Quaresimo, 94 of Poughkeepsie died at home on Tuesday April 15, 2014.

Born in Amsterdam, New York on May 9, 1919 she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Brezicki. On September 6, 1941 Josephine married Daniel F. Quaresimo; he predeceased her on April 22, 1990.

Josephine was a local resident since 1964, previously of Amsterdam, New York. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed dancing, bowling on the family team, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, watching all TV coverage of figure skating sports events, and an occasional trip with her family to Atlantic City. Josephine was a past member of the Exempt Firemen's Club Ladies Auxiliary. She also assisted her husband with activities at the VFW Post 170. Josephine's life was devoted to loving her family, cooking, family celebrations and traditions.

She is survived by her loving family; sons Louis Quaresimo of the Town of Newburgh and daughter in-law Jill Quaresimo of Poughkeepsie, Richard Quaresimo and his wife Maria of Poughkeepsie, daughters, Judith Ruscitti of Palmyra, NJ and Danielle Gowen and her husband Wayne of Hyde Park. Josephine is also survived by six grandchildren; Lynnette Reid, Michael Quaresimo and wife Victoria, David Ruscitti, Daniel Gumaer, Jason Gumaer, Scott Gumaer. Six great grandchildren; Nicholas and Justin Reid, Logan Quaresimo, Mason, Angelese and Amaiya Gumaer.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday April 19, 2014 from 4pm to 7pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Monday April 21, 2014 at Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie, New York. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery Poughkeepsie, New York.
