Marilyn E. Eaton
Newburgh - Marilyn E. Eaton, of Newburgh, a longtime area resident, entered into rest with her family by her side on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh. She was 70.
Daughter of the late Charles & Dorothy (Polchinski) Romaine, she was born August 4, 1943 in Bronx, NY. She married Raymond Eaton, Jr. on June 27, 1981 in Newburgh her beloved husband for 32 years. Ray predeceased her on May 17, 2013.
Marilyn was retired from Russin Lumber in Montgomery as a Human Resource Manager. She was an avid lover of music, dancing, and a frequent patron of the Bruynswyck Inn. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #428 of Poughkeepsie, Elks Club, Italian Center, Hudson River Valley Council, PTA, Assistant Coach for Town of Newburgh Little League and Girl Scouts. Marilyn was the life of the party!
She will be dearly missed by her family, her many close friends and her dog Bailey.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Karen O'Shea and her husband William and Linda Brooks and her husband Brian; her grandchildren, Monika Spearman, Gina Yozzo, Tanner Brooks, Justin Brooks and Sophie O'Shea; great-grandson, Jayden Spearman; her siblings, Dorothy, Peter and Arthur and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, February 27 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, February 28 at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Newburgh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marilyn's name may be made to the Women's Chapter of the Poughkeepsie Moose Lodge #904, P.O. Box 2020, Hyde Park, NY 12538
