Nicholas J. Imperial

Hopewell Junction - Nicholas J. Imperial entered into eternal rest on April 30, 2013. Nicholas was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 4, 1928 to William Imperial and Edith Imperial DeTrano. He grew up in Brooklyn and attended his beloved Bishop Laughlin High School. He graduated from Brooklyn College with his Bachelor's Degree and New York University with his Master's Degree. Nick proudly served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He was employed by Bell Laboratories and RCA as an engineer and then went on to work at IBM from 1963 to 1991. On September 5, 1953, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Ezzo. Together they traveled Europe and celebrated life. Family was the number one priority for Nick and he was a wonderful role model for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Nicholas was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Imperial. He is survived by his son, Bill Imperial and his wife, Nell, and his daughter, Teresa Orton; grandchildren, Elisa Greener, Krista Orton, Daniel Orton, Nicholas Imperial and Katherine Imperial and great-grandchildren, Lillyana Greener and Logan Greener and his brothers, Frank DeTrano, Mario DeTrano and Joseph DeTrano and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his loving sister, Elisa (Alice) DiScipio and his brother, Ross DeTrano.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 1028 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 3, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Church, Hopewell Junction, NY, followed by interment with full military honors at St. Denis Cemetery, Hopewell Junction, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties or Hospice of Dutchess and Ulster Counties.
