Pasquale "Pat" B. Martell

Millbrook - Pasquale "Pat" B. Martell, 80, peacefully entered into eternal rest at home on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 with his loving family at his side. Born in Poughkeepsie, June 19, 1934, he was the son of the late Felice and Antoinette Milano Martell. He attended Poughkeepsie schools, and proudly served our country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. Pat was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook. He was a programmer with IBM Poughkeepsie for 33 years, retiring in 1990.

On February 14, 1981 he married his beloved Rosalie Calenti, who survives at home. Pat and Rosalie adored one another and shared a love for traveling and often visited Hawaii. They resided in Naples, Florida for many years, before returning to Millbrook.

In addition to his wife, Pat is survived by his sister, Dolores Kernochan of Naples, FL; step-daughter, Darlene Valley and her husband, Robert O'Neil, of Millbrook; grandchildren, Markie Ann Pottenburgh and partner, Dee Carney, of Hyde Park, Michael Licis and wife, Laura, of Millbrook, Ashley Licis of Rhinebeck, Cody Valley and wife, Valeen, of Cary, NC; step grandchildren, Shannon O'Neil of Long Beach, CA, and Daniel O'Neil of Providence, RI; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pat was pre-deceased by his stepson, Mark Paganelli and stepdaughter, Dawn Licis.

The family would like to give a special 'thank you' to Hospice and all of the caregivers, friends, and people from the local community for their help, support, and strength during his last days.

Pat will be remembered as a loving and loyal husband to Rose, and a positive and encouraging friend to all those who knew him.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10am in St. Joseph's Church, 15 North Ave., Millbrook, NY. Burial with military honors will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc. Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
