Westcott, Boyd E. (Butch)

Boyd E. (Butch) Westcott, 73, loving husband, father, grandfather and devoted friend to many, passed away on March 12, 2014 after an extended illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Esther and Fred Westcott, his in-laws, Jack and Carmella Rossi. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rose (Rossi) Westcott; two sons, Dr. Mark Westcott (Pauline), Scott Westcott (Wendy); five grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Josh, LeeAnne, Sydney, Chase and Reese Westcott; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Smith, Lena and Ed Santelli, Louisa Moulton, Jack Rossi; also many nieces and nephews. Butch left behind many friends too numerous to mention. He was retired from Broome County Security. After retirement he enjoyed working at Traditions at the Glen as a Ranger. He was a volunteer firefighter for over 50 years serving West Endicott and Vestal Fire Departments. He also served as Chief for many years in West Endicott. He was an Auxiliary Policeman and his presence was seen at many parades and sporting events. He was a baseball umpire for many years. He was a 52 year member of the Endicott Elk's Lodge, BPOE #1977 and served at its Exalted Ruler twice. He was a member of the Duca Degli Abruzzi Lodge #443, Order Sons of Italy in America for over 25 years and a member of the Maine Masonic Lodge #399. He was an avid hunter and a member of the Vestal Sportsmans Club. Butch had a great sense of humor, a great zest for life and was always full of jokes. If you were around Butch, things were never boring. He loved the Giants, the Yankees, his riding mower and especially his TRUCK! He will be missed by all. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to all of his doctors, therapists and caregivers. Special thanks to the rehab staff at Bridgewater Center who gave him so much hope, motivation and encouragement. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott with the Rev. James P. Serowik, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott, officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends a the Pucedo Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The Maine Masonic Lodge will hold a memorial service Sunday 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. The Endicott Elks Lodge will conduct a Lodge of Sorrows service on Sunday at 4:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
