Owego, NY: Elroy J. Schreiner, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 22, 2014. He was born on September 17, 1930 in Lidgerwood, ND to Joseph and Ethel Schreiner. He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Myrtle and Joletta; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob and Marguerite Livengood; and his brother-in-law, Alan Dorey. Roy is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nicola Schreiner; his daughter, Denise (Jeff) Norman; his sons, Roy (Liz) Schreiner and Chad Schreiner; his grandchildren, Joshua, Shaun, Eric and Christopher Swinarski, Michelle (Jason) Teale, Danielle (Patrick) Kimmich, Jordan and Kyle Schreiner; his brother, Michael (Shirley) Schreiner, Sisseton, SD; and his sister-in-law, Pat Dorey, Belleview, FL. Roy served his country with the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a mechanic for Roger Dibble Dealership, the Newark Valley School Bus Garage, and Cornell University. Roy was a quiet man who loved his family and the great outdoors. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ronald Harris and the nurses at Broome Oncology at Wilson for their excellent care for the past 8 years and to Lourdes Hospice for their help during his final days.
