86, of Hallstead, PA passed away due to a motor vehicle accident. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Ruth in 2009, his parents, Ernest W. and Rena Benjamin Sr., and a sister, Eleanor O'Neil. Ernie is survived by four children, Ernest W. and Margo Benjamin III, Paula and Wayne Basa, Jan and Jim Kasten, and Alice and John Cooper; six grandchildren, Myndi, Shane, Hope, Marea, Dwight, and Wesley; twelve great grandchildren; and a large extended family. Ernie served in the Korean Conflict first of the seventh cav. He was honored with the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. Ernie was an avid outdoorsman, serving as a Deputy Game Warden for PA. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a foreman for Kroehler Manufacturing, Binghamton. Ernie and Ruth enjoyed travelling and antiquing. They appreciated raising their family on their mountain surrounded by all the wildlife. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m., prior to the service. The committal service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in Rose Hill Cemetery.
