Bell, Jr., George T.

Johnson City: 89, died Friday, June 13, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn Bell; sisters Dorothy House and Gertrude Solomon and brother John Bell. He is survived by his sons Gerald and Suzanne Bell, Endicott, and Thomas Bell, Johnson City; daughter Carolyn Bell, Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren Gerald and Amanda Bell, Taylor, TX, Mary and Jason Cornell, Johnson City, and Andrew Bell, Johnson City; great grandchildren Lily Ella and Riley James Cornell; sister Janet Kimmons; sister in law Ruth Bell; several nieces and nephews and good friend Lucille Forse. George was a European Theatre WWII veteran, a retired IBM worker, lifetime member of the Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial Church where he served as an usher for many years, an avid sports fan, but most of all a loving and devoted father and grandfather. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at the Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, 308 Main St, Johnson City, at 10:00AM with Deacon Patty Cardin officiating. Burial will be held in Center Lisle Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main St, Johnson City from 5-8PM. A special thanks is given to Lourdes Hospice for the care and compassion they showed to George.
