81, of Great Bend, PA was called home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife 62 years, Mary Joan. He is also survived by five children, John and Tami Ragard, Ellen and Rick Dorman, Cindy and Jim Gillespie, Tom and Maria Ragard, and Bob and Kathy Ragard; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Joan Haines; sister-in-law, Barb Tamke; numerous nieces and nephews; faithful companion, Casey. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard and his parents, Nicholas and Ethel Ragard. Jim served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the owner of Reale's Pizza for many years, past owner of Danceland with his sister, and 38 year employee with the Lackawanna Railroad. Jim had won the Binghamton Press's Bowling Tournament with Chris DeLucia. He was a life member of both the American Legion Post #357 and the V.F.W. Post #6223. Jim enjoyed his lottery and his ticket playing. He was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Barnes-Kasson Hospital and Dr. B. Patel for the care he received and also the staff of S.N.F. for making sure that Mom was with Dad daily. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Great Bend, PA, Saturday, March 8, 2014. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lourdes Oncology, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905, the V.F.W., the American Legion, or the Great Bend Hose Company No. 1.
