Bernstein, Jerome Straus

Triangle: Jerome Straus Bernstein, 77, of Triangle, NY, on April 24, 2014. Bernstein wrote an acclaimed eponymous analysis, "Benjamin Jarnes," and translated and published important works by three Nobel Laureates: Octavio Paz, Jose Cela, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. A graduate of Cornell, he received a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from Harvard. He served on the faculties of Harvard, Cornell, and UCLA, and later managed the documentation department at Dow Jones. Jerry's many passions included photography, oriental rugs, travel, and music. He leaves beloved wife Barbara, sister Marcia, son Jeff, granddaughter Celia, and four stepsons, Robert and Jonathan Teicher, and Nicholas and Sebastian Riccardi.
